You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following key attributes. Within the context of the responsibilities described above, the ideal applicant will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
Well-developed level of clinical knowledge, expertise and skill in Mental Health.
Ability to provide advice to senior managers and other stakeholders on contemporary mental health service needs.
Provide operational management of a medium-sized professional team, including the allocation of resources.
Contribute to the strategic direction for a healthcare team operating at one or more sites within or across a District or Service Area.
Proven ability or ability to quickly acquire knowledge of contemporary Human Resource, Industrial Relations and Recruitment processes.
Knowledge of financial principles and the proven ability to apply such knowledge including taking responsibility for meeting budgets, remaining cost focused and working within a allocated budget.
Ability to proactively identify needs for improvement and initiates and drives continuous improvement with an awareness of objectives.
Ability to apply contemporary leadership principles and maintain an effective and motivated team.
Qualifications/Professional registration/Other requirements
For Psychologists: Possession of a recognised degree in Psychology and full registration or eligibility for full registration as a Psychologist with the Queensland Registration Board of Psychologists, or
For Occupational Therapists: Possession of a recognised degree in Occupational Therapy and current registration or eligibility for full registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Queensland Registration Board of Occupational Therapists, or
For Social Workers: Possession of a recognised degree in Social Work, and eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers.
For Nurses: Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency with a current annual practicing certificate is essential.
Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and if applicable registration or membership with the appropriate registration authority or association. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
Hepatitis B Vaccination: Health Care Workers in Queensland Health whose occupation poses a potential risk of exposure to blood or body fluids must be immunised against Hepatitis B according to the National Health and Medical Research Council Australian Immunisation Handbook and the Queensland Health Infection Control Guidelines.
